I’m OK with hurricanes and tropical storms being named, but not winter storms. It's not like we name every tornado or tornado-producing storm, after all. Just another way for The Weather Channel to sensationalize and scare folks into buying milk, bread, and eggs.

Those pictures are from 2015. After the new ‘once in a hundred years’ flood defences had been put in place after the 2005 flood. The defences held but with record levels of rain, they were topped. Same area affected.
